Opening days for 2020
  • Non-motorized Opening Day: Friday April 3, 9AM - 4PM
  • Non-motorized Open for weekends (Friday, Saturday & Sunday): April 3 - 26, 9AM - 4PM
  • Non-motorized Open daily for season: May 1 - 14, 9AM - 4PM
  • Motorized recreation opening day: May 15, 8AM - 6PM

Exceptions to Operating Hours

Park Entrance Passes

Gift cards are available any time during the year at the Durango Community Recreation Center and can be used to purchase Lake Nighthorse passes. Lake Nighthorse passes for the 2020 season will be available for purchase beginning January 1, 2020 at the recreation center.

  • 5-Punch Passes are transferable.
  • Valid through Nov. 14 2020.
  • Available at the Durango Community Recreation Center or the Entrance Station at Lake Nighthorse
Season Passes
  • Walk/Bike: $20
  • Vehicle: $70
  • Additional Vehicles (same household): $35/ea
  • Senior Vehicle: $60
  • Additional Senior Vehicles (same household): $30/ea
  • Valid April 3 to Nov. 14, 2020.
  • Non-refundable.
  • Not transferable.
  • Available at the Durango Community Recreation Center or the Entrance Station at Lake Nighthorse
  • Print, fill out and bring: Lake Nighthorse Season Pass Form (PDF).
  • Season vehicle passes are windshield decals that must be affixed to the windshield of your vehicle to be vaild. Removing the decal or passing the decal between vehicles invalidates the pass.

Access Rules

Vehicle passes require proof of a vehicle registration.

  • Annual vehicle passes must be attached to the windshield.
  • Decals may not be removed or passed between vehicles. Decals not attached to the window will be considered invalid.

Purchase Bike and Walk-In Passes at the Durango Community Recreation Center or the Entrance Station at Lake Nighthorse during hours of operation.

  • If purchasing this pass at the Durango Community Recreation Center, you will be issued an identification card to show upon entry at Lake Nighthorse.
  • If purchasing this pass at the Entrance Station at Lake Nighthorse, you will be entered into the City database and given a paper receipt for purchase. Your identification card can then be picked up at the Durango Community Recreation Center at your earliest convenience.
